In November, I contacted a bunch of my favorite artists to see if they'd like to be included in an anthology zine I was putting together. I'd been wanting to do some kind of project about memory for a while but felt it was such a vague and broad theme that instead of just approaching it on my own, it would be interesting to see how other people would interpret it. And interesting it WAS. I'm still surprised all of these artists agreed to contribute because they are just so good (like Roman Muradov is a legit genius. Mark Beyer is a comics legend! And I praise the heavens daily that I somehow stumbled onto Lili Signorini's work). This zine is the kind of thing I would happily and lovingly just collect for myself to stare at all day but I'm glad I'm able to share it with others too.
I really admire and deeply respect the works of each of the 19 contributors and love how unique their individual styles, voices, and choices are. These works come from all over the globe with artists from France to Australia to Belgium to Canada (including another illustrator from my hometown, Moncton)! You can (should/must) order one from my shop here and definitely look up everyone's work independent from this project too.
The following are all of the artists who contributed with examples of the works that got me hooked. I've followed most of these people online for a while and am really honored and delighted that they agreed to contribute.
